Wendy Budwey is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts. She earned a Masters of Social Work degree from Boston University, and an undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She believes that therapy is a collaborative venture between the therapist and the client. Wendy uses a person-in-environment perspective to assist clients in developing coping skills to improve their functioning in all areas of their lives. Wendy has worked with all ages over 8 years old, and has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked with very diverse populations including homeless and incarcerated individuals, chronically mentally ill individuals, and clients wanting to achieve improved functioning in their lives. Wendy uses evidence-based practices that have been researched to prove their effectiveness with clients, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Wendy believes  self-care is both good for the client and clinician, her self-care routine includes hiking, quilting, and visiting museums.
