Tammy Stephens

Tammy Stephens has a MSW from Boston University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Stonehill College.

Tammy Stephens holds a Master’s of Social Work degree from Boston University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Stonehill College. With seven years of experience working with individuals who present with substance use disorder, PTSD, and anxiety, she has helped guide them through self-awareness and effective coping skills. Tammy utilizes CBT, Solution Focused Brief Treatment, and Narrative Therapy as treatment options. She has worked in several substance abuse programs including Section 35, court alternative programs, methadone clinics, and outpatient behavioral health facilities. Tammy has also worked with diverse populations and has significant training in working with individuals who abuse stimulants and opioids. Additionally, she is trained in Narcan administration and overdose prevention.

Tammy has experience facilitating psycho-education groups that focus on parenting skills, public speaking, anxiety, and Seeking Safety, an integrative treatment approach developed for co-occurring PTSD and substance abuse.
Her therapeutic approach is client-centered, focusing on clients as the experts of their lives and helping them to empower themselves. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, and baking.
