Kristen El Khattabi, LICSW

LICSW, Clinical Supervisor & Administrator for Clinical Operations & Development

Kristen El Khattabi is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts and Rhode Island with 20 years of experience working with children and families in a variety of settings. She is bilingual in Spanish and has spent much of her career working with refugees and asylees in the Boston metro area. Kristen earned her BA in Psychology with minors in Biology and Spanish from St. Michael’s College and her MSW from Boston University School of Social Work. She has worked most recently in developing treatment programs for adolescents in residential care, overseeing quality and compliance of clinical documentation, and managing teams of clinicians that provide outpatient therapy.

For the past decade, Kristen has worked in a supervisory capacity with Bachelor’s and Master’s level clinicians and interns, preparing them for work in community-based agencies and schools. Kristen has received training in Motivational Interviewing, Solution-focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and focuses her approach on what is most appropriate for each individual’s needs. Kristen’s philosophy in the therapeutic journey is that each person has the answers to resolve whatever issues they are seeking to resolve. The role of the therapist is not to be an expert but rather to be curious and ask the right questions that will guide the person in achieving their goal. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys listening to music, being in nature, and spending time with family and friends.
